RUN CHICO RUN
Slow Action
Boompa

· This two-piece from Victoria put together a thoughtfully messy release.

With their new album, Slow Action, the Victoria two-piece delivers a more eccentric and developed album than their previous two. A tad more messy and layered, the multi-instrumental group has created a wonderful album out of original rhythms and dance-ready tracks. The thick bass lines of "Old Men’s Clothes" combines nicely with keyboard-driven tracks such as "Famous For Being Famous." "Broadcaster" is a stand-out track with a beautiful melody that catches your attention. It’s reminiscent of Sufjan Stevens and Chad VanGaalen and provides a good introduction to a diverse album.

Though the band maintains their indie rock sound, they allow for interesting and creative developments. The thoughtful and inventive Slow Action provides a suitable conclusion to Run Chico Run’s most varied and fun album yet. If I were you, I’d check it out. There’s some free advice for you, and you’re welcome.
