KT TUNSTALL
Eye to the Telescope
Relentless

· Debut album from sassy Scottish singer-songwriter.

Hi, my name is Lenore and I’m a KT Tunstallaholic. It’s been two hours and 16 minutes since my last listen.

It all started innocently enough. I had heard her name but not much else, so I popped in the disc and went about my Sunday chores. Great voice, a little folksy, a little bluesy, good beats. Then she pulls out the big guns and kicks into track four – "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" – and next thing you know I’m dancing around my apartment with more fervour than Jennifer Beals working out to "Maniac." The CD doesn’t leave the player for the rest of the day.

Tunstall starts popping up casually in all my conversations and I start referring to every man who’s ever wronged me as the "black horse and the cherry tree." The CD goes wherever I go, and like an addict, I start sneaking out of work for frequent coffee breaks to get a fix on my car stereo. I’m starting to think of Tunstall as my new best friend. Pretty soon, I am stalking her on pollstar.org and contemplating a complete style revamp – to be more like KT, of course. I may be in need of an intervention soon, but for now I’m enjoying my new favourite album a little too obsessively.
