McConaughey: Hollywood’s leaning man
Whether it’s tired sequels or remakes of TV shows that should have been long forgotten, Hollywood has no shame when it comes to recycling ideas. But looking at these two posters, it becomes clear that it’s not just screenwriters that have run out of ideas.

Apparently the well has run dry for the people who write Matthew McConaughey’s romantic comedies as well as the people who market them. Sure there are slight differences in McConaughey’s posture, just like there are subtle differences between Failure to Launch and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, but I guess that is to be expected.

Both films were released by Paramount Pictures. So is it the marketing department ripping off their own ideas, or is this a subtle admission that they, too, realize that all these romantic comedies are essentially the same? Look for McConaughey to have a lucrative endorsement deal with V8 in 2006.
