| Re: "Venezuelas Hugo Chavez not a shining example for Premier Ralph Klein," by Jeff Hodgson, Letters, February 23, 2006.
It's a funny thing, but I don't recall Ralph (literally) Klein raising the minimum wage to anything above poverty level here in Alberta.
If this is the criteria to be used when judging the effectiveness of a political leader, exactly how is Ralph any better than Hugo Chavez?
Hugo is now in the process of giving all citizens of Venezuela access to medical care, too, while in contrast, Ralph is busy, on behalf of his corporate pals, attempting to undermine what little public health care we have left.
Hugo is also giving poor Americans yes, thats right, Americans subsidized oil, which is something that Ralph, not to mention George W. (as in war crime) Bush, would never do. Dont hold your breath waiting for that.
Less Hugo, more Ralph? Personally, I think that would be a form of "conservative" Gods hell. How about less free-market fundamentalists, more human beings?
