Discussing class divide openly is riskky business
Re: "Social acupuncture: Diplomatic Immunities takes a needle to Calgary with painful and pleasurable result," by Jeff Kubik, Theatre, February 16-22, 2006.

Thanks for Jeff Kubik's favourable review of Diplomatic Immunities – he understood where we were coming from. Just wanted to report, though, that while on opening night the "poor person" was mortified by our attempt to redistribute money from the "rich person," we've had great success with that in subsequent performances, with a different "poor person" receiving a generous $130 (she bought drinks afterwards at the Auburn).

Discussing class differences so openly is risky business and it's important to note that the strange shame and reluctance attached to redistributing wealth speaks to assumptions and attitudes that are flexible and up for discussion.
