I don't believe in a lot of things, like retail therapy and telling people to go out and buy cds. Still, there are exceptions and this is one of them. Buy this CD. Buy several. Tell your friends to do the same. It will make you feel good and you will be doing a good thing at the same time because all proceeds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Six-year-old Skyler Pia, created a mix tape featuring selections from earlier Putamayo releases and added intros and commentaries to the tracks. The commentary is often very funny, perhaps unintentionally so, and also poignant. You can tell that Skyler is having a good time while trying to cheer up a very sick friend. Putamayo heard about this mix tape and subsequently decided to release it. The musical selections, by artists like Eric Bibb & Tete Alhino, are first-rate and the price point is reasonable enough that kids can buy it for themselves. You can't help but enjoy this album and there is little to criticize. It could be longer and a gender balance would normally be desirable, but six-year-olds don't usually concern themselves with that sort of thing and, in this case, neither should anyone else.
