WE ARE SCIENTISTS
With Love And Squalor
Virgin/EMI

· More fun than a pair of Bunsen burners.

This could be a textbook lesson on how to run your band. Release a few independent EPs. Play some shows. Book a few tours. Launch a website to show off your humour and personality. Get signed. Record a debut album with a big industry producer. Re-record a few songs. Get criticized for having a "new sound" and selling out. Make a few well-placed late-night television appearances to create a buzz for a new audience.

With a dynamic early ’80s sound designed to put fans of Franz Ferdinand on the run, this New York trio is on the move. The lead single "Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt," explodes with sexual tension as lead singer Keith Murray screams, "My body is your body/ If you want to use my body/ Go for it!" Last month they were on Late Night with David Letterman, next week they’ll be on a locker in your high school.
