I will Internalize (EP)

· The five-track pop-folk EP follows up Wainwright’s self-titled full-length debut released earlier this year.

Once in awhile you get really lucky. You decide to go check out a musician or band who’s caught your ear, usually in some little venue with minimal fanfare. The show then leaves you so blown away, that you buy their CD at the makeshift merchandise booth on the way out. Sometimes they come out and chat after the show – they’re humble, appreciative and human. They don’t have that intimidating sheen of fame that can surround people who encounter too much too soon. So you take the album home, and you listen to it over and over again for days, reliving each song as it was played live. You listen to it and you can’t believe that you’ve discovered music that is so good. Suddenly, everything else you’ve always liked sounds just a little bit old. The next thing you know you’re running around telling anyone who’ll listen that they "absolutely, must buy this album."

After awhile you don’t listen to it as much and new music comes along. But every now and then you pull out that CD, and you are right back at that live show. And you shake your head for a second, because you can’t believe how lucky you are.

5/5
