Plans for positivity, sleep and less MySpace
It's resolution time again. Although I've made some pretty big changes this year, it seems more poetic to announce an official code of conduct for 2006. Luckily, I've travelled this road before and am fully aware of my limitations. I've dismissed fantasies of suddenly becoming more organized or toying with the idea of drinking less. This year I'm sticking to the basics, with high expectations for success.

Resolution No. 1: positivity. From time to time, I can appear bitchy, cranky or just downright mean. A positive attitude will ensure happy thoughts and general warm fuzzies so I can be a productive unit. I plan to achieve this by visiting cuteoverload.com daily. There are kittens in sinks, bunnies in tea cups and crocheted animals. I will embrace the joy that comes from seeing domesticated pets in crockery.

Resolution No. 2: sleep. Although everyone needs different levels to maintain functioning status in their daily routines, I’m positive that I'm not even close. I frequently hallucinate at work or break into fits of giggles at inappropriate times. Caffeine isn't a monkey on my back, it's a God damn silverback gorilla. I will remedy this by following the tips for a healthy restful sleep at sleepnet.com. According to the site, all I need to do is not go to bed drunk, use my bed only for sleeping and keep regular hours.

I’m finding it challenging to follow Resolution No. 1 when it comes to the ridiculous demands of Resolution No. 2.

Resolution No. 3: spend less time on myspace.com. Everything you’ve read or heard about this online community is true. It’s a cult, it’s highly addicting and will take over your life. And after I change my profile picture for the fifth time this week, I’m done. Really.
