I would like to bring to your attention a very offensive statement that was made in an article about the Lakeside Packers labour dispute. In the first paragraph, Gillian Steward is trying to explain that the employees who work at Lakeside are mainly refugees that come from war-stricken countries such as Sudan. But instead of using a much more PC statement, she calls Sudan a hellhole!
This is very untrue, and let me say as an African, statements like that are not only rude and ignorant, but also sound like cowtown bigotry. I am quite sure she is not a bigot at all, but maybe she should really think about the words she uses to describe people and their countries.
As I stated, I am from Africa and very proud. My country has problems with war, yes, but it is still one of the most beautiful places on Earth not a hellhole at all!
