A DOZEN FURIES
A Concept From Fire
Sanctuary

· The Prince of Darkness appoints his newest minion.

After many gruelling weeks on the road, Marc Serrano of Dallas band A Dozen Furies emerged victorious in metal’s ultimate battle of the bands challenge on national television. MTV’s hit show, Battle for Ozzfest differs from its pop-based predecessors by turning a mere singing competition into a tour bus filled with eight tattoo-bearing, guitar-wielding musicians selected to represent their bands, each ready to thrash out against their opponents and desperate to rise as conquerors of the main stage. Working under the direction of metal deities from Slayer, Lamb of God, Hatebreed, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath, it’s no wonder these guys learned how to rock.

This relentless debut album, packed with aggression, heavy drums and dominating guitar riffs serves as evidence that A Dozen Furies earned the right to perform at Ozzfest. The festival (now in its 11th year) has been the stomping grounds of bands like Incubus, System of a Down, Killswitch Engage and Arch Enemy and is likely to thrust yet another band into the fast lane on rock’s infamous highway to hell. With front man Bucky Garrett’s vocals in "Push Away" and Mike Miller’s drumming in "Nightmare of a Martyr," A Dozen Furies prove that they can bang heads with the best of ’em.
