CAROLYN MARK & FRIENDS
Just Married: An Album of Duets
Mint

· Corb Lund, Ford Pier, The Fine Options and others team up with Carolyn Mark for a delightful musical romp.

"You’re dumb when you’re drunk/ yeah, you heard me right." Only Carolyn Mark could open an album with a line like that and still be charming in the morning. Of course, on these 14 tracks she has plenty of help. First there’s the sucker-punch musical sparring between herself and NQ Arbuckle on the wistfully hungover sounding "Fireworks," then drunken musical staggering with The Silverhearts, followed by conspiratorial musical infidelity with Geoff Berner on the instantly stuck-in-your-head "Draw the Line."

Whether spoofing Elton John with W. Amy Honey or urging Nathan Tinkham to hurry up in a song that sounds like it was culled from a 1950s film soundtrack, Mark takes a musical stroll de deux down pathways surrounded by her special musical garden in full bloom.
