NAGISA NI TE
Dream Sounds
Jagjaguar

·Reference points.

Translated easily as On The Beach, Japan’s Nagisa Ni Te have released a stream of recordings (often feeling like a monthly occurrence) in bona fide tribute to Neil Young’s legendary album of the same name.

For Dream Sounds, Nagisa Ni Te filter Crazy Horse through Japanese pop on "Anxiety," dirge beautifully through the 20 minutes of "The True Sun" (a sequel of sorts to opener "The True World") and (in case you missed the reference the first 297 times around) throw Young even more props on the downright gorgeous "Me, On The Beach."

That Nagisa Ni Te sound as exotic and dream-worthy as they do is a dual testament to their aural obsessions and their unique reinterpretations thereof.  Sure, they’re ripping off Great Uncle Neil at every opportunity, but nobody (not even Crazy Horse themselves) has ever sounded quite like Nagisa Ni Te.
