Listening to Readymade has always had the relaxed sensuality of slipping into a hot bath. Over the course of their rather fluid discography, their guitars have shimmered and dripped with rich, atmospheric tangibility. This late in the shoegazing game, critics have long since exhausted metaphors for thick walls of sound, but mercifully Readymade haven’t exhausted the genre’s potential. All the Plans Resting is certainly no departure from their past efforts, but the fact that they continue to turn out epic, blurry masterpieces (and without ever touring) is a testament to the band’s strength. With just enough echo on Arch’s sweet, everyday voice, Readymade continue to make headphone candy of the highest order. Fittingly, this album most resembles the sound of a satisfied sigh, the same noise fans will make once they hear any of the new sleepy-sweet melodies that the band is so adept at delivering.
