The birth of a new ramen experience
I have not left the house in a few days. It is freakin’ cold and I have watched all the episodes of Family Guy, Millennium and the Muppet Show in the house. I have foraged through all the chocolate biscuits, seashell chocolates and Ritz crackers. All the healthy food is gone – the veggie pepperonis, all-in-one bag salads and Green Giant cheese vegetables are but a memory. It is time to visit the cupboard of forgotten groceries.

In addition to 12 cans of Very Cherry and a lone can of Zoodles, I hit pay dirt: the quintessential bag of ramen noodles. You may know them as Mr. Noodles, Ichiban or even Cup O’ Noodles. I know them as the perfect comfort food (when all other options have been eaten). However, if I was to be holed up in my apartment for another few days, I had to have a game plan to add variety to my meagre food supply.

Enter my saviour at mattfischer.com/ramen, a site with more ramen noodle recipes than you can shake a flavour packet at. With over 250 recipes featuring ingredients ranging from hot dogs to chocolate chips, you’re bound to find something to spice up your best friend in hard times. There’s even a few articles on the merits of noodles, and a recipe to make your own ramen from scratch.

Now if only I could find a wine-pairing site.
