KEITH JARRETT, GARY PEACOCK AND JACK DeJOHNETTE
The Out-of-Towners
2004 ECM Records
· Keith Jarrett started playing piano in 1948, at the age of three. He has been recording with Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette since the 90s
The most consistently creative jazz trio working today, Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette captivated audiences at Munich State Opera in July of 2001 and the recording of that performance is now being released. There is something magical and hypnotic that happens when they get together. Jarretts piano solos explore romantic cadences and blissful melodies and are used beautifully to bookend the spirited blues of the title track. The creative instincts of DeJohnette and Peacock come through on Cole Porters "I Love You." Dress the song with such brilliance its as if its been born again. When the audience applauds you cant help but have the same response they were captivated throughout the recording then at the end exploded into roars of applause. Jarrett, Peacock and DeJohnette are truly at the peak of their game.
