FOUR TET
My Angel Rocks Back and Forth
Domino Records

· More bang for your buck.

Four Tet (otherwise known as musician Kieran Hebden), is offering fans a Costco-like value with the EP My Angel Rocks Back and Forth. The DVD and CD double-pack not only contains impossible-to-find Four Tet videos but two new songs as well.

The title track is actually a song from Hebden’s acclaimed 2003 record Rounds and his latest EP has some impressive remixes of previous favourites (Members of Icarus rework "My Angel Rocks Back and Forth" and "First Thing/Chia"). Although Hebden isn’t really covering any new ground with this release, it is an excellent introduction for people unfamiliar with his work, and fans will no doubt appreciate the hand-picked quality of the record.

Famous for his electro-acoustic minimalism, Hebden's sound defines the term ambient, as his songs can fill a room with simplistic melodies and trance-like hypnotics. The video component is a great extra, as the artist is known for having the ability to portray stark images through his music. The scavenged video footage for "As Serious As Your Life" makes a convincing argument for the hipness of morris dancing and is as innovative as anything you’d see on MTV.
