| For various reasons, mostly monetary in nature, I have become a fanatic for second-hand fashions. Not only is it a frugal choice to peruse consignment, vintage or second-hand clothing shops, but I have found bountiful treasures in the basements of some of the most obscure places that malls, discount outlets and department stores wouldnt even consider stocking. Im particularly fond of my lovely white embroidered cowboy boots and cute little 1940s-style print dress. The selection is usually endless, unique and always stylish.
The first time I walked into the welcoming atmosphere of Whats in Store, I was greeted by the smiling face of store proprietor Michelle Mouat. Her vision for the store is apparent F-U-N. Offering more than just shopping, Mouat strives for a total fashion experience.
Since my first visit, I have returned again and again, rarely with arms empty. An overwhelming choice of colours, smells, textures and shapes greet the senses when walking in and when heading downstairs one is met with a veritable bonanza of fashions from the past. Each decade has its own rack filled with shoes, bags, ponchos, scarves, hats and jewelry everything a girl could ever want.
Did I mention that the store has the coolest paint job? Do you know of any other house thats painted like a dairy cow? |
