THE FATES
Saturday, July 3
Ironwood
Historically, women with a past were openly shunned, but secretly admired and desired. Musicians Jenny Allen, Lin Elder and Lori Reid each have their own track records and now share a collective future in their Alberta-based band the fates. Elder was a backup singer for Jann Arden and has released some superb music, including her 1998 stunner One Beautiful Wife. Allen, recently featured on CMTs The Undiscovered Country, is in her third decade of lending her angelic voice to the local scene, while Reids Radio album has garnered rave attention. Fast Forward caught up with the trio of goddesses to check out what its like to trade solo stages for girl power.
