· "This ones like a fart everyone knows what it sounds like and it stinks."
Swingin Utter vocalist Johnny Bonnel
Loud, proud and shamelessly pandering to the crowd. That pretty much sums up the Swingin Utters vigorous Live in a Dive. Ripping their way through 23 punk rock greats, this quintet of Californian rebels prove why theyve been a mosh-worthy favourite for more than a decade. Pulling material from their six-album oeuvre, the petulant ones spew forth a dynamic, old-school, hardcore onslaught with a distinctive Celtic undercurrent. Signature tunes such as "No Eager Men," "Fruitless Fortunes," and "The Dirty Sea," are balanced with inspired covers of "Here We Are Nowhere," "Hopeless Vows," and "I Got Your Number." A raucous good time that, with any luck, will be an exceedingly positive influence on the revival-immersed youth (brigade) of today.
