| Re: "Dunford says more funds for disabled not priority," by Amy Steele. News, May 27 June 2, 2004.
Priority or not, Dunford's comments regarding the opinions of Albertans is laughable. Seems to me that many Albertans have expressed concern about utilities (natural gas and electricity), auto insurance, and financial accountability for BSE funding (whatever happened to that issue?)...........and Dunford and his buddies has neatly avoided addressing these issues clearly and directly.
Perhaps it is a priority for Albertans. I view health care funding more than just $$$ that keeps a hospital open. Most of the real benefits associated with a person receiving AISH has more to do with health care (access to medication/treatment/therapy, access to psychologist/psychiatrist, access to programs) - physical and mental health - that it does with providing funding for living (shelter, food, recreation, entertainment). So, it could be possible that people are including financial support for individuals receiving AISH when they express concerns for health care funding.
Why doesn't Dunford take this into consideration when determining what Albertans are conveying as priorities? Why be so biased and selective when analyzing the priorities?
When can Albertans receive some real representation from our provincial government?
When will Albertans realize that the average person is not a priority to this provincial government?
