| Every up-and-coming band knows that possibly the only thing more challenging than touring this vast nation is persuading a largely unfamiliar public to get its collective ass into the clubs.
Throwing a better-than-average budget and a strength-in-numbers ethos behind the cause of Canadian indie music, CBC Radio 3 is presenting Connect the Dots, a self-described "10-city music, photography and multimedia tour showcasing some of Canadas most promising artists."
Traversing the country, from Vancouver to Halifax, over the course of a month, Connect the Dots showcases a different selection of local and out-of-town bands in each city, including current and perennial campus-radio faves such as the Superfriendz, p:ano, and the Russian Futurists. Also on display at each tour stop is an exhibit of the works of 15 Canadian photographers, plus multimedia entertainment from CBCRadio3.com.
Here in Calgary, marvellous Vancouver-based popsters Young & Sexy are joined by synth-pop darlings Falconhawk and the hip-hop of Dragon Fli Empire. Connect the Dots stops in Calgary Tuesday, April 27 at the Big Secret Theatre.
