| · It's sad bastard music.
There must be something in the water of those Scandinavian countries to produce yet another sensitive 21-year-old singer-songwriter. This EP sounds as though Jens Lekman hollowed out Belle & Sebastian and then refilled them with a gooey caramel centre.
Lekmans lyrics are well beyond his years, which makes me wonder why people from that part of the world are so reflective and in tune with their emotions? Maybe its all that stark, minimalist furniture allowing for no distractions. It would be a disservice not to mention that the record sounds like it was written in a private candlelit room where Lekman shed a tear or two after scribbling down a haiku on a torn cocktail napkin.
