| · Guitarist-frontman Scott Radinski may have retired from major league baseball, but he and the rest of the band hit it out of the park on their latest album.
The new album from Pulley shouldnt have any surprises, should it? If I say frantic three-chord So-Cal punk, you know exactly what I mean. The head turner here is that the whole album is better than its individual songs. The more you listen, the more you want to listen no small feat. Opening up with bouncy guitar-driven songs the record has the sound and fury of a runaway freigh train without being out of control. When the band does slow down the hooky bounce of their songs, they do so without sounding like theyre getting old.
Speaking of getting old I must be, because the only criticism I have of the record is that the sound quality is a little thin. The bass solos and cymbals may sound tinny, but saying that a punk album has poor production is like complaining that rock n roll is too loud. Isnt that the point?
