I wasn't too impressed by Agaetis Byrjun (Sigur Ross second full-length, but first crack at North America), despite some brilliant moments their 2002 release () was better, but carried its single thought around for 30 minutes too long. However, the three tracks on Ba Ba Ti Ki Di Do, this 20-minute-long soundtrack to a Merce Cunningham ballet get the balance exactly right, beginning with a Mike Oldfield-like (Steve Reich-like for you Tortoise fans) marimba opening which, by the third track, has gradually devolved into electronic sound collage. As with (), it's a small idea, but this time expressed without excess, and given a novel twist.
