GREG MACPHERSON
Maintenance
G7 Welcoming Committee
· A snippet from an up-and-coming songwriter.

Maintenance is a five-song acoustic offering from Winnipeg-based singer-songwriter Greg MacPherson. But why should you care about a stripped-down EP, especially when MacPherson put out a more instrumentally-rounded full-length in 2002?

Because there’s lots of passion here, whether it’s in the cover of the Clash classic "Bankrobber" or in the portrait of a lonely aging mother in "Slow Stroke." Because the fiery Cape Breton miner’s narrative "Company Store" has never been released on record before. And because if you can’t get out to see him live, this is a good yet quick introduction to what one of Canada’s finer up-and-coming musicians is all about.
