Hey Cooper, thanks for the T-shirt slogan
Re: Going Green in Alberta, News, by Amy Steele, January 29 — February 4.

Thank you for your article on George Read and the Green party. I was a little surprised to find Professor Barry Cooper saying "they have no chance of electing anyone." Whichever party he supports, it likely started out small. Perhaps he withheld his support until he heard their candidate was winning. I hope that's not the sort of deep thinking he shares with his students.

About Green politics being "based on a moralistic fantasy of the way things ought to be instead of the way things are." Hell, I'd wear that on a T-shirt, if it would all fit. Moralistic might be a heavy word though, for simple determination to try to do the right thing. Of course the real fantasy is the notion that we get to keep things the way they are. Every fantasy serves some purpose, but realism makes for better policy. The future is happening. The Greens work to give it a nudge from time to time. I suppose anywhere that kind of effort is being made, a certain amount of background noise should be expected.
