| · Pat Wilson from Weezer and Atom Willard formerly of Rocket From The Crypt and The Offspring rock out in ways their famous bands wont allow.
There is a sweetness in the melodies of land air sea by The Special Goodness that is balanced by cynical lyrics that comment on a vast landscape of relationships from the general to the intensely personal. With 12 tracks that chug along with thick guitars and nice harmonies, this album echoes the early sounds of the Foo Fighters.
Songs such as "Oops" (named for the Britney Spears hit) and "N.F.A." prove The Special Goodness have a sense of humour and the ability to write a catchy rock song. Wilsons vocals are pleasantly strained and Willard tears it up on the kit when needed. Most of the tracks clock in at the standard three-minute mark, but these boys are certainly not afraid to play it slow and heavy. They even sing about girls in an honest and unconventional way.
Rock n roll ground is not officially being broken, but this record knows how to rock and doesnt brag about it.
