Theres an interesting arc to Boozoo Bajous Remixes disc. The German DJ-producer team of Florian Seyberth and Peter Heider start things off at the more down tempo end of the dance spectrum, then heat up the beats for several tracks before chilling things down again.
There are three different kinds of rethinks here Boozoo Bajous alternate takes on their own work (the Melodica Cut of "Camioux"), their re-imaginings of other peoples work, including that of Tosca ("Chocolate Elvis") and the Funky Lowlives ("Bellaluna") and other peoples re-interpretation of their work, with folks like Thievery Corporation and Freeform Arkestra helping out. Generally, the tracks create an interesting listening atmosphere with just a hint of toe-tapping. If you skip the insipid duet from Common and Mary J. Blige, Remixes should make your home office a little more groovy which is never a bad thing.
