‘Tis the season
Michael Burgess brings music and tradition to life
What do I want for Christmas? What can I wear to the staff Christmas party? Forget that – world famous tenor Michael Burgess gets to the heart of some really tough holiday decisions.

Tinsel or garland?

Tinsel. It’s tradition. I don’t dislike garland. I like tinsel – just throw it and adjust it afterward.

Turkey or ham?

Turkey. We used to have a 30-pound bird and we would cook it all day and you would smell it. That was all part of the anticipation.

It’s a Wonderful Life or Christmas Carol?

Both. I think they are both equal. Different mentality about them, but equal.

White Christmas or Holiday Inn?

White Christmas.

Shortbread or gingerbread?

Shortbread is Christmas to me. The more buttery the better.

Homemade or store-bought gifts?

Both. If you’ve got the time, homemade is great. Whether it is store-bought or homemade is fine as long as you choose it.

Bing Crosby or Dean Martin?

Bing Crosby.

Rudolph or Frosty?

Frosty is cool, but I have to go with Rudolph.

Egg nog with or without rum?

With. Definitely with dark rum.

"Deck the Halls" or "Jingle Bells?"

Since the concert is called "Deck the Halls," I’ll go with that.
