| What is it about burning wood that makes you want to drink hot cocoa, snuggle up to your loved one and reminisce about winters past? Is it the loud pops and fizzles of the fire? The light dancing in the hearth? Or perhaps it’s the Baileys you added to the cocoa?
Whatever it may be, people love fireplaces during the holidays. It could be a huge stone affair with a wrought iron grate that warms your heart, or a crackling fire DVD played on a television. Me? It’s all about the electric logs.
In my humble abode, I have one of those charming mantles sans chimney – just an outlet that begs for the se/18 electric log model found at gas-logs.com. Complete with realistic crackling sound, I can now enjoy the magic of burning gas logs with electricity! And I can purchase the Sierra Electric heater with 5000 BTU/ht output if I want that warm toasty feeling by my feet.
So, now I have a nice warm fire in the living room, but what’s really classy are those bedroom models. In addition to providing the wonder of electric logs, the site also has a fabulous collection of portable electric fireplaces with an oak or white cabinet finish to enhance that lovin’ feeling. Oh yeah, nothing says romance like a roaring fire and champagne.
And maybe one of those white furry rugs. And some wocka-cha, wocka-cha music. And that guy who works at the video store every Thursday who always erases the late charge with a playful wink.… |
