Reality-show statements that should be banned
· Verbal offender: "It’s been a journey."

Offensive use: When implemented to describe a participant’s experiences on dating shows like Temptation Island and Paradise Hotel.

Message to users: You came on a TV sleazefest to grope as many members of the opposite sex as possible, so can the whole self-discovery shtick.

·Verbal offender: "With integrity."

Offensive use: When delivered on a show like Survivor or Big Brother by an eliminated player to describe how he or she conducted themselves during the competition.

Message to users: Yes, you’ve got integrity all right. You also have no idea how the game is played, dumbass!

· Verbal offender: "I feel a connection with all of you."

Offensive use: When offered on a Bachelorette/Joe Millionaire-type series to describe the featured player’s relationship to his or her suitors.

Message to users. In a couple of hours you met 15 different people and each is going to have a lasting impact on your life – what a load of crap.

· Verbal offender: "It’s on!"

Offensive use: As a declaration from a reality-show contestant that another player has just made his or her hit list.

Message to users: The animosity this statement is intended to invoke is muted when you so cowardly utter it to the camera only when the person is out of earshot.

Verbal offender: "I am pulling the strings."

Offensive use: As an assertion that a Survivor/Big Brother-type competitor is in control of the game.

Message to users: Look forward to being eliminated next week. Whenever you feel that you are pulling the strings, it means someone else is pulling your chain.
