Check your math on Stampede story
It seems that Tom Babin does need to check his math, if not his facts. In the second paragraph of "Crowded Out: Stampede attendance moseys along as city’s population sprints forward" (City July 3 - 9, 2003) one of the twin anchors of his article is miscalculated – Calgary’s population has increased by almost 100 per cent since 1976. That does make me wonder if the previous letter from Tyler Shando is right on the mark.

That whingeing comment aside, thanks much for the effort put into Fast Forward. I picked up the July 3rd issue this past week and read the paper from cover to cover, enjoying or being engaged by well over half the articles (pretty good hit rate for a general-news paper). Fast Forward has matured greatly over the past few years and is a true alternative to the other info sources in the city. Keep up the good work.

Editor’s note: The population and attendance figures in the article were correct, but the calculation was wrong. We apologize for the error.
