A little bit blues, a little bit rock and a little bit funk – that’s the only way to describe Birth of Confusion, the debut album from Fredricton band Grand Theft Bus. The foursome – made up of guitarist and singer Tim Walker, bassist Graeme Walker, guitarist Dennis Goodwin and drummer Bob Deveau – have produced a tight collection of fun, contagious tunes.
Expanding each track to the fullest, Grand Theft Bus exhausts their melodies and draws you in further than any two-and-a-half-minute, made-for-radio, sound-bite song ever could. Each member of band is given ample jam time, but Walker’s bass line really pulls it all together, subtly laying down his groove foundation throughout the album. This is definitely one ride worth taking.
