SIMIAN
We Are Your Friends
Source UK
· Bananas for Simian.

From the banana-yellow cover to the song entitled "Sunshine" and the tripped-out sound-effects, Simian has devised some clever tactics to ensnare new "friends" (a.k.a. fans). And it’s working. Helplessly devoted to making damn good music, Simian somehow manages to holler like John Lennon without sounding utterly derivative, unlike The Ataris or The Cansecos.

We Are Your Friends is a strikingly atypical rock album on which you’ll discover beguilingly sweet harmonies and quirky lyrics, interlaced with over-the-top throbbing electronic beats that melt into buttery hypno-grooves. Playfully balancing their manifold skills, this neo-fab four layers on the heavy organ vibes and pounding percussion. Rewardingly, each of the 12 songs featured on We Are Your Friends puts forth its own unique and fully realized character.
