| · The second record from Vancouver popsters was produced by The Grapes of Wrath's Kevin Kane.
Unabashed pop music is a real treat when it is played without pretense. With head-bobbing honesty, well-used strings and sing-along choruses, The Salteens Let Go Of Your Bad Days is an almost pristine collection of poppy charmers. While the record lacks the raw frenzy of The New Pornographers excellent Mass Romantic, it nevertheless gives it a run for its money. Well-tuned vocal harmonies abound and, while the record doesn't stray far from verse-chorus-verse structures or loud-quiet-loud dynamics, it still sounds entirely sincere.
