After an eight-year collaboration, the Irish/African "Sound System" known as Afro Celts has propelled itself to yet another level of world-vibe consciousness. While the groups third album, Further in Time, was an electrified and otherworldly adventure into the starry cosmos, Seed entails a return to Earth and a journey deep into inner space.
Turning over the soils of new countries, the Afro Celts run the elemental spectrum, fusing tribal percussion with flamenco guitar, bagpipes and Celtic fiddling. Aside from their own prestigious lineup (which includes James McNally, whistle player for the Pogues, and Irish vocalist Iarla OLionard), the Afro Celts albums are known for the guests who join in the pan-global ceilidh in this case, Jah Wobble, Canadian guitarist Jesse Cook and Kenyan nyatiti player Ayab Ogada, to name a few.
