| If you ever had the chance to meet a really talented and hot-lovin’ guy like Pete Yorn, what would you say? Would you try to wow him with your intellect and humour, or would you just be casual and say, "Hey, how’s it going?"
I was fortunate enough to meet Pete Yorn last year. I was wracking my brain for something extremely witty and memorable to say to a man who, in my opinion, is one of the greatest things to happen to music in years. I could have told him that he writes good songs. I could even have told him that I really enjoyed the show. Yes, I could have done that.
When the time came to meet him, I was ready to prove that I was intelligent and had good things to say, that I wasn’t just a groupie who wanted to pin him up against the wall and plant one on him like I meant it. I think that I shocked – and possibly stunned – him with my deep, thought-provoking words: "I think you’re really great."
And his new album, Day I Forgot? It’s really great, too.
