Online resources for vegetarians
The hardest thing about being vegetarian is convincing others what it means to you.

As a guideline, you’d think people would assume at the most basic level that it means no flesh. There are, of course, specifics – lacto-ovo vegetarian, vegan, raw foodists, fruitarians, pesco and pollo vegetarians and people who won’t eat horse-hoof derived products (marshmallows and gelatin). Whatever your reasons or preferences, when dining out it’s nice to know what your options are and if the staff are hip to your needs.

Welcome to the world of vegetarian-restaurants.net, a site committed to helping vegetarians in all their forms dine out according to their beliefs. Restaurants are rated not only on dishes, but also price and service, with directions and hours of business included. In addition to providing a comprehensive guide to dining or shopping vegetarian in North America, you’ll find links to cookbook sites, animal rights issues, Hare Krishna sites and Vegetarian Singles and Dating resources.

With the Recommended Reading page, you can search for books to aid you in identifying animal ingredients, or bone up on your protein knowledge and vitamin intake. Be sure to look over the International page, which gives helpful details on booking vegetarian meals for your flight or train travel, and what to watch out for in everything from French to Ethiopian cuisine.

Wherever you go, your furry friends will thank you.
