| Re: Mind games: David Cronenberg on memory as delusion and the making of Spider, by Jaime Frederick, Cover, Feb. 27 Mar. 5
I'm troubled by the massive media attention that David Cronenberg is receiving for his film Spider. In my opinion, Cronenberg deliberately made his troubled character a murderer to create controversy and thereby generate a substantially larger box office revenue. I have not and will not see the movie because I will not contribute a penny to the financial well being of someone that deliberately perpetuates harmful stereotypes.
I am looking forward to a film that realistically portrays the devastating illness of schizophrenia John Nash the troubled genius (A Beautiful Mind) and David Cronenberg's killer are exceptions to a generally meek and courageous people.
