Since Fast Forward readers find Tara McCool so appealing, we asked her to reveal the secrets of a working mother's beauty routine – here's what it takes to be Calgary's sexiest woman:
1. Drag your sorry butt out of bed at 3 a.m.
2. Take a look in the mirror... which prompts you to scream as loud as you can – it also loosens up the vocal chords for the morning show and starts the adrenaline flowing.
3. Check the severity of the under-eye baggage – will you need the cucumber treatment today? Chances are you do, but who has time to cut up cucumbers at three in the morning? Just deal with the bags.
4. Judge the hair situation. Since you went to bed with wet hair, chances are it's standing up on end. Try really hard to calm things down with water, then attack it with the hair dryer. If you're suffering from morning sickness and are severely affected by hot blowing air, dry until you're ready to puke and then abandon the mission.
5. Get dressed in the dark and pray everything matches.
6. Warn everyone before entering your place of work that you're coming in without make-up on – they'll have time to look away. Don't encourage hecklers who notice your hair is only half-done by acknowledging them with a response, just keep quiet.
7. As a courtesy to the viewers, put several layers of heavy pancake make-up on. Make sure it's enough to clog all your pores so you constantly look like you're going through puberty. That's the best.
8. Blabber on television for a few hours, thinking everything you say is really important. That's sexy.
9. During commercials, make sure you stuff as much food as humanly possible into your mouth. That way, the viewers can play the "spot the food she's spilled today" game. It's even sexier if you have food stuck in your teeth.
10. After work... head home and go straight to the sink to wash off as many layers of make-up as you can. It may take a chisel and a couple hours to complete. Good luck on your mission. |
