BOARDS OF CANADA

· How to make Kid A look like kid’s stuff.

Compiled from over 100 finished tracks and clocking in at a precisely demonic 66 minutes and six seconds, Geogaddi sees Boards of Canada peeking out from a darker veil than usual, and it's enough to make their legendary Music Has the Right to Children seem downright sunny.

There is evidence of a sort of musical attention deficit disorder throughout the album’s 23 tracks – Boards of Canada seemingly more interested in developing sounds than they are in laying danceable grooves. Yet on "Music is Math" the group insists that they know what they're doing, and that it's all part of a relatively simple formula. One can almost imagine Thom Yorke and the rest of Radiohead already scratching their heads in search of their "next" sound.
