Once again LTJ Bukem assembles a collection of tracks that run the gamut of the beat spectrum. As on previous editions of Earth, Bukem sets the jungle aside for a 12-track journey through acid jazz, nujazz, hip-hop, two-step, downtempo and rare groove. While there are no shortage of compilations that try to cross spectrums and genres, the Earth series has become the benchmark by which others should be measured.
Bukem showcases the intelligent side of the beat, including efforts from Big Bud, Paul Hunter, Rebirth of Conscience, Vincent, Weldon Irvine and Makoto. This is as heady as any compilation can get, and fans of the new breed of jazzed out riddum will find much to indulge in on Bukem's home planet.
