IAN POOLEY
Since Then
V2 RECORDS

· New album from the man who brought you the Meridian album and the seminal classic "What’s Your Number?"

There’s never been a doubt about Ian Pooley’s love affair with Brazillian music – just about every track he’s remixed or produced in his Frankfurt studio has some flavor or component pulled from the sunny side of the battacuda. Since Then does not steer far from the course – deep, latin-flavoured house and two step dominate this album while avoiding the tech domain of previous work.

Since Then is a pleasant excursion into the sunnier climes of house music – a vocal tacked on here, a percussion break there. While it is a very good album, it sounds like Pooley’s been very careful not to disturb the formula that’s sold so many of his albums worldwide. That said, Pooley is master of this domain, and Since Then is still much better than 95 per cent of what flies under the banner of latin house music.
