· Canadian Label thinks deep

In an effort to prove Canadian music can think globally, Nordic Trax a Vancouver based label has pulled together 12 of Canada’s finest DJ/producers to develop one of the nicest rolling discs of deep house imaginable. Featuring a track from local jock, Jon Delerious, as well as the stellar Gavin Froome, this set can compete with anything put out by vanguard labels such as Plastic City or F Communication.

This is deep on the "TimeWriter" tip, a seventy minute set of rolling house, complete with atmospherics minimal sampling and the steady thump of 4/4. While this disc doesn’t have the necessary pop hooks to allow it to cross over into major market appeal, (a vocal track would have been a nice punctuation somewhere on the disc) it does showcase the extreme D.I.Y. talent that fuels Canada’s underground music culture. For a deep late night ride, seek this one out.
