GOB
The World According to gob
Nettwerk

· Vancouver's playful quartet slow it down a smidge to put out a glistening punkety rock gem produced by Neill King (Green Day, Jawbreaker, Joe Cocker).

If Blink-182 can mesmerize a generation sucking on a Britney and 'N Sync-coated pacifier, then gob is perfectly set to steal their thunder and entice everyone to suckle on the mighty maple leaf and riff-o-matic beaver. Like a slam dance between irresistible power chords and peppy melodies, all 14 tracks are cohesive, solid gold singles. Highlighted by the noodling on "Can I Resist" and a goofy hidden track, The World According to gob is one of the more gratifying pop punk albums released recently . And now that it sounds like the boys have popped some Ritalin and given themselves more time to fully develop their pop flair, this record marks the beginning of a brand new band.
