by FFWD StaffIn case you havent heard, theres now less than two weeks until the circus comes to town. Gatecrasher makes an arrival here in cowtown and headliners include the illustrious DJ Heaven among others. It is set to go October 1 at The Palace.
In the meantime youll still have to get through the weekend and were here to help.
On Thursday, Hai Karate has your hook-up as Grimes celebrates his birthday with Vancouver boy Spun K filling in the gaps with Emes and the birthday boy. Expect your DJs to be fully imbibed and the breaks n house to be hard and funky.
Horizon continues at the Warehouse on Friday. This week youll be privy to the techno turntabalism of Rachel Auburn, one of the top female DJ/Producers in the world, who will play along with resident Special Agent for an all-night session of house that honours the fifth anniversary of Tidy Trax records.
Other Friday events include Bounce at Soul Tattoo , as Phunk and Vinne line up to go all night with super special agent Delerious. Doors open late and the party goes until dawn. Theres also Tsunami down at Cherry with mixmaster Pump, wholl cut and scratch until last call.
Road Trip anyone? Nexus happens Saturday night in Edmonton. Biggie DJs for the event will include DJ Micro and Jerry Bonham. Tryptomene, Domenic G, T Bone, Pascal and Dekoze will also be featured.
Back home, Sanctuary happens the same night. Featuring Mel Reyes, its a late-night option held at Soul Tattoo. Blissed happens the same night with residents Pauly Dee and Anthem, and of course this occurs at the Warehouse and goes until dawn.
Junglists can head on out to JJs Bar as Junglistic Scientifix, takes Saturday night on with residents Fanatyk, Lotus Queen and Proph.
Sunday has the always damn fine Rice pushing the deeper side of the house equation down at the Night Gallery for Sunday Skool.
Wednesday get your fill of Fehrenheit with Domenic G, Delerious, Cereo, Fever, Testa and Clarke. The out-of-towner this week will be Ann Savage. Doors open at 9:00.
On September 29, the Emerald Café opens its doors beneath the old 421 Meredith space taro, Honeey Mustard, Anwar and Phelan will be your essential selectas as they guide you through techno and house once again.
