On Thursday, August 31 get out yer ya yas and help celebrate a year of high kicks and karate chops care of the beautiful two Grimes and Emes. Tonight they celebrate a year of marshalling The Night Gallery on Thursdays with their blend of Hai Karate house n breaks. Tonight youll get guests by the fistful, giveaways and cheap booze.
On Friday at The Warehouse, the new all-night-long event, Horizon, starts up. No longer just an after-hours experience, Horizon will run from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. with only one cover charge. Emphasis will be on the harder side of the house equation and it will be hosted by Special Agent as well as Grooverobber.
Across town, Bounce moves to Soul Tattoo, with the same crew that presided at The Warehouse. This will still feature after-hours beat manipulation.
Only one monster party is set for this Saturday and thats Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which grabs hold of the 403 Skatepark that night. It will feature a skate competition as well as DJs from near and far including Prophet, Justin Hill, Morgan, Tommy Illfingas, Five Alive, Domenic G, Tryptomene, Genius, Emotion, Bazooka Joe, Karizma, Lazy, Mista Levi and a few more. On Sunday, dont stop, because youll get massive Yankee DJ Jeff Mills pumping out the interstellar techno along with Tryptomene and Domenic G down at The Palace for the continuing series of Synergy.
That same night, PJ and crew will put the hop back in your hip as they occupy three floors down at the Embassy for another long weekend edition of Beat Matrix.
Next Wednesday, Chris Fortier comes through town for the Embassys weekly installment of Fehrenheit, which will also include Cereo, Delerious, Domenic G, Fever, Testa and Clarke.
That same night, The Night Gallery offers up Freshmode featuring Darrius and Rye, as they bring together all forms of hip hop and rare groove to help get you through that mid-week hump.
