Til We Outnumber Em
Righteous Babe Records· Ani DiFranco produces this concert album in celebration of the marriage of the Guthrie Archives to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in a Cleveland performance.
Lets face it, it is exceedingly difficult to go wrong with Woody Guthries direct language and charming melodies, especially when you gather the titans of roots music together. While the songs sound best when galloping out with the entire cast of singers throwing their simultaneous and rousing talents into them, one welcome aspect of the album is the generational layer cake created when Ramblin Jack Elliot, Country Joe McDonald and Bruce Springsteen trade off songs with Ani DiFranco, Indigo Girls and Billy Bragg. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, hallelujah!
