Sound of Water
Mantra / Beggars Banquet· Englands honey pop trio collaborate with Sean OHagan (Stereolab) and post-rock-techno-neu-kraut-rock-pioneers To Rococo Rot.
Saint Etienne has made a career out of writing perfect pop songs for jet-setters scrambling through airports or dashing down English country roads in convertibles. The trio takes a deep breath of the salty air as the morning fog convinces them to leave their Paul Smith suits packed, opting for woolly sweaters instead. Even their synthesizer seems a little more relaxed.
